Kaltura- Adding a video to your course page

With its integration into the Moodle system, instructors can choose to add a video file to their course page. Use the following instructions to insert a Kaltura video to your course (process may be repeated for multiple videos).


  1. Login to myPlymouth
  2. Select the myCourses tab.
  3. In the center column, select your class title from the appropriate semester category in the myCourses channel. You will now be looking at your course's home page.
  4. Click on the Turn editing on button in the top right corner.
  5. Choose the Kaltura Video Resource radio button  located under the resources category and select Add at the bottom of the window.
  6. Create a name for your video in the Name field (required) and a description if you wish (optional).
  7. Scroll down to the Video section and select Upload media or record from webcam (see image below) 

8.Select the Add Media button and the Kaltura selection screen will pop open.

  • If you are choosing a video that you have already uploaded, select the My Content option on the left and then the Search button. Select your desired video and choose the Next button. Continue on to Step #13 in this section.

      9. To upload a video file from your computer, select the Upload option on the left side and choose the Browse button.

     10.Navigate to where the video file is stored on your computer and double-click to select it (or click the file once and select the Open button).    

     11.Select the Upload! button to send thevideo to the Kaltura server.

     12.Now select the Next button to continue.

     13.Type out any additional information about your video and select Next.

     14.When you are ready to save your video to Moodle, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save and return to course.

Your video has been successfully added to your course page. Click on the video link if you wish to view it.

  • Due to processing times, your video may not be available to watch right away. Please check back later if this is the case.
