PSU Employees - User Accounts

An official PSU User Account is required for employees to have access on-campus computers, our Wi-Fi network, as well as the electronic gateway known as myPlymouth. Through this portal, you have access to campus information, employee information, PSU email, Lamson Library holdings, and online coursework (Moodle).

Account Provisioning for PSU employees

An official PSU User Account will be provisioned within 24 hours after your hiring information and required documents have been processed by the HR department.  Once your Official user Account has created, you will receive an email at the personal email address you provided as part of your application.  Instructions for activating your Official PSU User Account can be found here.

Accounts and services for PSU employees are provisioned based upon the "user's role" with Plymouth State as indicated by the HR classification system.  The chart below represents the typical services provisioned by user type:

 * Provided the account remains active and in use.  Should the user not access the account at least once a year -

the account will automatically de-provision and all old email data will be deleted.

 

Account De-provisioning

Account De-provisioning is an automated process which removes access to log into myPlymouth as well as access to the M-drive, Department Shares and PSU email.  In order to maintain accurate data for reporting, employment history and IT access, once jobs are inactivated, access will be removed per USNH ITS and HR guidelines.  

Account de-provisioning for benefited faculty (TT, Contract and Clinical) happens 30 days after the end of term in order to allow for grades to be submitted; and is based upon date indicated in the Letter of Resignation submitted to the HR department, or upon the date of termination.  

Account de-provisioning for benefited staff (PAT and OS) happens based upon date indicated in the Letter of Resignation submitted to the HR department, or upon the date of termination.  

Account de-provisioning for Teaching Lecturers happens overnight 180 days after the last day of paid employment, or upon the date of termination.  Teaching Lecturers receive an email notification that their account is pending deletion 14-21 days prior to the de-provision date.  At that time they are encouraged to back up their email and other files.  Moodle content remains intact, and should the Teaching Lecturer re-hired is a future term, he/she would regain access to those moodle courses.

Account de-provisioning for non-benefited staff (Hourly) happens overnight after last date of hire - as indicated by the NS-1 submitted to the HR department, or upon the date of termination.  Hourly Staff receive an email notification that their account is pending deletion 14-21 days prior to the de-provision date.  At that time they are encouraged to back up their email and other files.

 

Employees with Multiple Roles

Is is quite common for a person to have additional roles at PSU beyond their employee role.  Should the employee role de-provision, the user's access and services will be automatically adjust based upon the remaining roles.  See the Services by User Type table above.
