802.1x Checking network settings on windows for wired connection.

Before starting the data jack must be activated.

1. Click on the start menu and type in "services.msc" and hit enter. 

2. Find "Wired Autoconfig" in the Services window and double-click 

3. This opens another window. Make sure "Startup Type" is set to "Automatic" and hit "Start" and then "Apply"

4. Close out of "Services"

5. Click on the start menu, type in "Network Connections" and hit enter. 

6. Right click "Local area connection"  and select "Properties" 

7. Click on the authentication tab and ensure 802.1x authentication is enabled.  

8. Then select "Additional Settings..." and be sure to have the check box filled beside "Specify authentication mode" and have the drop down set to "User authentication". Then hit "Save credentials" and enter in your myPlymouth username (do not include @plymouth.edu) and password. Once these are set, keep hitting "OK" to save all of these settings.
