Basic Dock Troubleshooting Tips:

-Verify that all cables (video and power) are plugged in and securely connected both to the back of the dock as well as to the laptop

-Make sure that laptop has its external display option turned on (some of them have a keyboard command to turn this on and off)

-Check drivers if possible

Dell E-Port Plus

The most common docking station you will find at PSU is the Dell E-Port Plus Advanced Replicator with USB 3.0.This dock is compatible with most of the Dell laptops (other than the Latitude 5480) that PSU has for faculty and staff. The dock can support two external monitors.  Here is the manual for that particular dock:

Dell WD15 Dock

For users who have the Dell Latitude 5480 laptops they will be using the new WD15 dock. If they are encountering an issue with flickering images or fuzzy images on their monitor they may need to update the dock driver. To do that, navigate to this website:

Latitude 5480 Drivers

On that page, select Find it Myself and then scroll down to Docks/Stands and open that section. Within that section select the "Dell Wired Dock (WD15) / Docking Monitor Stand (DS1000) Firmware Update Utility" and download it. The laptop needs to be on the dock when you run the utility in order to update the firmware.
