Read Write Gold
Read and Write Gold is literacy software that is available to all students on campus, but is especially helpful for students with dyslexia or other reading difficulties, as well as those for whom English is not their first language. The Read and Write Gold program can read Word documents, PDFs, and the web aloud. Additionally, the software has a voice to text function, a study skills toolbar, and a speak-as-you-type function. The software is currently available across campus, but students may come in looking for additional support. This documentation provides some resources should a student come to the Help Desk with questions about Read Write Gold.
Who Can Request the Software
Any student, faculty or staff may request the software be installed on their machine at the Help Desk or via phone. Help Desk will provide the support for install for students. For faculty and/or staff working on university machines Desktop Support will do the install. A request for Readwritegold should be submitted on Kayako in the name of the person making the request or for students they may come by the Help Desk. Note - it can take up to three days to schedule a time for the install for a faculty/staff campus machine.
