When a student ceases taking classes at the University, their computer account will extend for 15 – 45 days, after which, it will expire. You will also no longer be able to log into cluster computers, access Office 365 (including your One Drive) nor will you have access to your M drive or class content in Moodle. Prior to leaving campus you should backup important files that are stored in these locations as they will no longer be accessible after the account expires.

Download Files from M Drive

To download files and folders from your M-drive go to, check mark the files and/or folders you would like to keep, click on the Download this folder (zip) and click OK. This will download the selected files and/or folders to your computer as a single compressed zip file. This process can be done multiple times for multiple folders and/or files. Note that downloading the entire My Documents folder itself may cause an error.

Make a copy of your files before your account terminates

If you are still on campus, the easiest way to save files from your M drive is to burn them to a CD or DVD or save them to a USB flash drive. If you do not have a CD or DVD burner on your computer you are welcome to use the ones in the library. Be sure to bring an adequate supply of blank CDs/DVDs for this purpose, if you have a lot of files.

myPlymouth access for PSU Graduates

Within 30 – 45 days after graduation from PSU, your myPlymouth account will automatically transition to an alumni account. Your access to myPlymouth will also transition from an active student role to an active alumni role. This means that some of your tabs will go away (myCourses, library, student life, etc. ) and be replaced with special alumni tabs (Alumni Services, etc.) As an alumni, you will not be able to access ILLiad (Inter-library loan) or library databases. You will continue to have access to myPlymouth and online resources specifically designed for PSU graduates.

You will retain access to your PSU e-mail account for life, provided you continue to use it on a regular basis. Email accounts that become inactive for more than 120 days or do not have a forwarding address will be deleted to conserve server space. After 120 days, users are provided the ability to self-reactivate their email with a link in the myMail channel. Your PSU email is the primary means through which the Alumni Association will keep you abreast of events and gatherings.
