ITS will be performing planned upgrades and maintenance on Moodle on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The work is scheduled to be completed from 6 a.m. - noon. When the upgrade is complete, we will send a communication letting you know that Moodle is ready for your use.
Most of the changes to Moodle will be slight improvements and will not affect course design or settings. There are several new features in the Moodle dashboard, Assignment settings, and in the Assignment Grading Interface.
For all users:
Improved Dashboard: You can now check course progress, upcoming activities and gradable activities from the new Course Overview block. Upcoming activities must have a "due" or "close" date assigned to display in the dashboard.
User-friendly messages and alerts: Quickly access messages and notifications wherever you are on the site.
Easier activity navigation: 'Previous' and 'Next' links, along with a jump-to menu make navigating around courses easier and more intuitive.

Drag and drop media: Drag and drop images directly onto the course page (creates a Label).
Discussion Locking: Easily close forum discussions after a period of inactivity.
Assignment overrides: Easily change assignment deadlines for individuals or groups.
Set a "Grade by" reminder: Set a reminder to alert you in the course overview.
Specify assignment file types: Choose which file types students can upload to their assignments during the assignment setup.
Collapse comments in Assignments: Collapse assignment feedback comments for greater readability.
Negative scores for rubrics: The Rubrics grade calculation has been improved and now allows for negative scores.
