  • Open Self Service from the Applications menu.
  • Run the Catalina Preflight

Once that is complete, you can update to Catalina as you usually would:

On most modern versions of macOS:

  • Open your System Preferences and locate the Software Update option

  • Allow the Software Update tool to locate the new operating system, then click Install Now.

On older versions of the operating system, you may not have the Software Update option in System Preferences.

  • You can upgrade to macOS Catalina by launching the App Store and upgrading through the Updates tab.
